Dylan is a black and white La Mancha. He was surrendered from a Sonoma County dairy and was rescued along with 12 other babies, including Merlin. Dylan and Merlin were very sick when they arrived. Both were rushed to UC Davis for emergency treatments. It was discovered that Dylan had not gotten colostrum from his mother, which is so important to a goat's health.
Dylan needed two plasma transfers to save his life. We were so relieved when he eventually recovered! We still monitor his health closely, as he needs to gain a little more weight and is recovering from a respiratory infection. We recently set him up in his own little pasture and are feeding him a special hay mix with supplements, probiotics and nutrients to try bring him to a better state of health. He is also very loving and is always the first to approach human friends and visitors.
