One of our older female goats, Lucy, was having a rough morning last Friday, she was shivering with a low body temperature. We called the vet to check on her. It turns out she has a very severe heart murmur which affects her circulation and ability to stay warm.
Until the nights are warmer, she is spending the night in the garage under a heat lamp. She then goes back with her friends in the morning, namely her bestie, Bridgette who is also a senior.
Due to their age, Lucy and Bridgette (both are 13 yrs old) have very bad teeth. They get special food - moistened pellet hay instead of hay.
