A goat grazing business in Marin County had to make the tough decision to shut down the company. As a result, 60 goats he had needed to find new homes. Goatlandia had room to take 5 of his female goats, who are all pregnant. Peach, Lara, Isabelle, Mara, and Zelda, are likely going to give birth in a few short weeks!
To ensure the mamas and the unborn babies are in good health, we’re giving them extra nutrition, and we have them in their own area with a birthing barn. We are monitoring them closely!
The goats are different breeds; Nigerian/Pygmy mixes, a Kiko mix, and Alpine mix. Their babies are predicted to be born mid-June. We are so excited to have these babies be able to stay with their mothers. This is not our usual experience! Most babies we rescue are unwanted males come from dairies. Witnessing these mamas giving birth will be an amazing experience. Stay tuned! We’ll do our best to share this experience with you.
